More solar power for Texas?

On April 24 and 25, Environment Texas and our allies held the Texas Solar Forum at the Texas Capitol. The forum brought together solar executives, elected officials, utility providers and many others, to learn more about the global solar industry, how other states and countries have benefited from solar power, and potential methods to create similar solar marketplaces in Texas.

Texas receives more solar radiation than any other state. According to an analysis by the Renewable Energy Policy Project, Texas could attract $5 billion in investment and create 6,000 new jobs by the year 2015 in the photovoltaic industry alone, with the right incentives. Texas is a natural world leader in this important industry; we'll be working to help Texas keep pace with the rapidly-growing global solar industry.
